These Booking Terms & Conditions apply to tours and related services booked with Singapore Day Tours (“Singapore Day Tours”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
By making a booking, paying a deposit or other amount towards a booking, or instructing us to proceed with arrangements on your behalf, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to these Booking Terms & Conditions.
1. Booking Confirmation
A booking is confirmed only once we have accepted your booking and received the required deposit or payment.
Your booking confirmation, itinerary, quotation and/or invoice will set out the principal details of your tour, which may include the tour date, duration, group size, meeting or pick-up arrangements, inclusions and price.
Please check these details carefully and notify us as soon as possible if any amendments are required.
Any quotation or proposed itinerary provided before confirmation is subject to availability and does not guarantee the availability of guides, vehicles, attraction tickets or other services until the booking has been confirmed.
2. Pricing and Payment
Unless otherwise stated in your quotation or invoice, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm a private tour booking.
The deposit allows us to reserve your tour date and begin securing guides, transport, attraction tickets and other services required for your booking.
The remaining balance must be paid by the due date stated on your invoice or otherwise agreed with us in writing.
If payment is not received by the required date, we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled and release any guides, vehicles, tickets or other services reserved for the booking.
Prices are based on the information provided at the time of quotation, including group size, itinerary, tour duration and requested services. Changes to these details may result in a revised price.
3. Cancellation by the Customer
As our tours are private and arrangements are made specifically for each booking, the following cancellation terms apply:
- The 30% deposit is non-refundable.
- For cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled tour start time, amounts paid above the deposit will be refunded, less any costs or expenses already incurred or committed in connection with the booking.
- Such costs may include attraction tickets already purchased, transportation or vehicle bookings, supplier charges, meals, venue charges and other non-refundable services arranged specifically for the booking.
- Where a guide has already been reserved and is required to remain available for the booking, an applicable guide standby fee may also be deducted.
- For cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled tour start time, no refund will be provided.
- No refunds will be provided for no-shows.
The date and time at which we receive your written cancellation request will determine the applicable cancellation period.
Where a refund is due, it will be processed after applicable non-refundable costs, supplier charges and other expenses relating to the booking have been deducted.
4. Changes Requested by the Customer
Requests to change a confirmed booking, including the date, start time, itinerary, duration, pick-up location, group size, transport requirements or inclusions, should be made as early as possible.
Changes are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
Where a requested change results in additional supplier charges, revised rates, additional operating time or other costs, these will be payable by the customer.
For changes requested less than 24 hours before the scheduled tour start time, no refund will be provided for any services, tickets, transport, guide arrangements or other costs that have already been reserved, purchased or committed.
A guide standby fee may also apply where a guide has already been reserved for the original booking arrangements.
If a requested change cannot be accommodated, the original booking will remain in place unless otherwise agreed in writing.
A request to move a tour to another date does not automatically entitle the customer to cancel the original booking without the applicable cancellation terms applying.
5. Changes in Group Size
Your quotation and invoice are based on the group size advised to us at the time of booking.
If the number of guests increases, additional charges may apply and a different vehicle, guide arrangement, ticketing arrangement or other service may be required.
A reduction in the number of guests after confirmation does not automatically result in a reduction in the tour price or a refund.
The full invoiced amount remains payable where fewer guests attend than were originally confirmed, unless otherwise agreed or confirmed by Singapore Day Tours.
For example, if a tour is booked and invoiced for 10 guests but only 8 guests attend, the booking will still be charged at the original invoiced amount for 10 guests, unless otherwise agreed or confirmed by Singapore Day Tours. No refund, credit or price reduction will otherwise be provided for the 2 guests who do not attend.
This is because guides, transportation, attraction tickets and other services may already have been reserved or purchased based on the confirmed group size.
The customer is responsible for informing us of any change in group size as soon as possible.
6. Late Arrivals, Delays and No-Shows
Guests are responsible for being ready at the agreed meeting point or pick-up location at the confirmed start time.
If guests are delayed, they should contact Singapore Day Tours as soon as possible.
Depending on the circumstances, we may allow a waiting period of between 30 minutes and 2 hours from the confirmed tour start time. The amount of time we are able to wait will depend on factors including the guide’s availability, vehicle arrangements, subsequent bookings, attraction timings and other operational commitments.
Where guests arrive late, we will make reasonable efforts to provide as much of the planned tour as possible. However, the tour will normally still finish at the originally agreed finishing time unless an extension has been agreed and is available.
Where a guide, driver, vehicle or other service is required to remain on standby because of a guest’s delay, additional waiting or standby charges may apply. The customer may also be responsible for any additional transportation, parking, supplier or other costs incurred as a result of the delay.
No refund will be provided for tour time, attractions or activities missed because of a guest’s late arrival.
If guests fail to arrive within the waiting period we are able to provide, and no alternative arrangement has been agreed with us, the booking may be treated as a no-show.
No refunds will be provided for no-shows, whether the entire group fails to attend or only individual members of the confirmed group fail to attend.
Where only part of the group attends, the full invoiced amount remains payable unless otherwise agreed by Singapore Day Tours.
7. Tour Duration and Overtime
The tour duration stated in your confirmation is the period for which guides, vehicles and other relevant services have been booked.
Requests to extend the tour are subject to the availability of the guide, driver, vehicle and any other affected suppliers.
Additional time may be charged at the applicable overtime or hourly rate.
Delays caused by guests, including late departure, extended stops, shopping, meals or other customer-requested changes, do not automatically extend the booked tour duration.
8. Itineraries and Attraction Availability
Tour itineraries are planned in good faith based on the information and operating conditions available at the time of booking.
Singapore Day Tours reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the order, timing, route or content of an itinerary where necessary due to circumstances such as traffic, weather, road closures, attraction closures, government restrictions, public events, security requirements, operational issues or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where a planned attraction becomes unavailable, we will make reasonable efforts to provide a suitable alternative where practical.
Unless a particular attraction, activity or service is expressly stated as guaranteed in your booking confirmation, itinerary timings and individual stops should be regarded as planned arrangements rather than guarantees.
9. Attraction Tickets and Third-Party Services
Some tours may include services supplied by third parties, including transport operators, attractions, restaurants, venues and other service providers.
Where third-party tickets or services have been purchased specifically for your booking, their own terms, conditions and cancellation policies may also apply.
Once non-refundable tickets or services have been purchased, their cost may be deducted from any refund if you subsequently cancel or change your booking.
We are not responsible for the independent acts, omissions, closures, delays or operational decisions of third-party suppliers except to the extent that responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Transport
Where private transport is included, the vehicle type will be selected based on the confirmed group size and booking requirements.
Specific vehicle models cannot be guaranteed unless expressly agreed in writing.
Guests must comply with applicable laws and reasonable safety instructions provided by the driver or guide.
Where child seats or other specific equipment are required, customers should notify us before booking so that availability and any additional charges can be confirmed.
11. Mobility, Accessibility and Special Requirements
Customers should inform us before booking of any mobility restrictions, disabilities, medical considerations or other requirements that may materially affect participation in the proposed itinerary.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate disclosed requirements, but accessibility varies between attractions, vehicles and locations and cannot always be guaranteed.
Where material requirements are not disclosed before the tour, we may need to modify the itinerary where reasonably necessary for safety or operational reasons.
12. Food, Allergies and Dietary Requirements
Where food, restaurants, hawker centres or dining experiences are suggested as part of a tour, these recommendations are provided for convenience and as part of the overall tour experience.
Singapore Day Tours does not prepare, handle or control food supplied by third-party restaurants, hawker stalls, food vendors or other establishments.
Guests are responsible for informing the relevant food provider of any allergies, intolerances, dietary requirements or other food-related concerns before ordering or consuming any food or drink.
While our guides may make suggestions or help communicate dietary requirements where practical, Singapore Day Tours cannot guarantee that any food or venue will be free from allergens or suitable for a particular dietary requirement.
Guests remain responsible for deciding whether any food or drink is suitable for them. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Singapore Day Tours is not responsible for allergic reactions, illness or other adverse outcomes arising from food or drink prepared or supplied by third parties.
13. Weather and Safety
Tours generally operate in Singapore’s normal weather conditions, including periods of rain.
Weather alone does not automatically entitle a customer to cancel a tour or receive a refund.
We may modify, postpone or cancel all or part of a tour where severe weather, official warnings, safety concerns or other conditions make the planned arrangements unsafe or impractical.
Our guides and drivers may make reasonable operational or safety decisions during a tour, and guests are expected to follow reasonable safety instructions.
14. Customer Conduct
Guests must behave responsibly and comply with applicable laws and reasonable instructions from guides, drivers, attraction staff and other service providers.
We reserve the right to refuse participation or terminate a guest’s participation where their behaviour is illegal, threatening, abusive, unsafe, excessively disruptive or places themselves, other guests, staff or members of the public at risk.
Where participation is refused or terminated because of a guest’s conduct, no refund will normally be provided for unused services.
The customer may also be responsible for damage they cause to vehicles, property or equipment, subject to applicable law.
15. Personal Belongings
Guests are responsible for their own luggage, valuables and personal belongings throughout the tour.
Guests should check vehicles, restaurants, attractions and other locations before leaving them.
Singapore Day Tours is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings except to the extent that such liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
16. Cancellation or Changes by Singapore Day Tours
In the unlikely event that we are unable to provide a confirmed tour or a material part of it, we will make reasonable efforts to offer an appropriate alternative arrangement.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include an alternative guide, vehicle, itinerary, service or tour date.
If we cancel the entire tour and cannot provide a reasonable alternative, we will refund amounts paid for services that are cancelled and recoverable, subject to applicable law.
Where third-party suppliers have already incurred charges that cannot reasonably be recovered, refunds relating to those amounts will be subject to the applicable supplier terms and applicable law.
17. Force Majeure and Events Beyond Our Control
Singapore Day Tours will not be responsible for failure or delay in providing services where this results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Such circumstances may include severe weather, natural disasters, flooding, fire, epidemics or pandemics, government action, changes in law or regulation, border restrictions, transport disruption, road closures, industrial action, civil unrest, terrorism, security incidents, public events, attraction closures or other events that could not reasonably have been prevented or avoided.
Where such circumstances affect a booking, we will make reasonable efforts to modify, reschedule or provide alternative arrangements where practical.
Any refund will take into account costs that can reasonably be recovered from relevant third-party suppliers and will remain subject to applicable law.
18. Liability
We will exercise reasonable care and skill in arranging and providing the services for which Singapore Day Tours is responsible.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be responsible for losses arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control, the acts or omissions of the customer or another guest, or the independent acts or omissions of third-party suppliers.
Nothing in these Booking Terms & Conditions excludes or restricts any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
Guests remain responsible for making their own decisions regarding their ability to participate safely in the activities included in their tour.
19. Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that all guests obtain appropriate comprehensive travel insurance before travelling.
Insurance should, where appropriate, provide cover for cancellation, medical treatment, accidents, travel disruption, delayed or cancelled flights, missed connections, lost or damaged belongings and other circumstances that may affect the guest’s ability to participate in the tour.
Failure to obtain travel insurance does not alter these Booking Terms & Conditions or create an obligation on Singapore Day Tours to compensate a guest for losses that would otherwise have been insurable.
20. Flights, Cruises and Other Travel Arrangements
Customers are responsible for allowing sufficient time between their tour and any flight, cruise departure, transport connection, appointment or other onward arrangement.
While we will make reasonable efforts to follow agreed timings, travel times in Singapore can be affected by traffic, weather, road closures and other circumstances outside our control.
Singapore Day Tours does not guarantee that a tour will connect with a customer’s onward travel arrangement unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
Guests arriving on flights or cruise ships should inform us of relevant arrival details and any changes or delays as soon as reasonably possible.
21. Information Provided by Customers
The person making the booking is responsible for ensuring that information supplied to Singapore Day Tours is accurate and complete.
The person making the booking is also responsible for communicating relevant booking information and these Booking Terms & Conditions to the other members of their party.
We are not responsible for problems arising from materially inaccurate, incomplete or outdated information supplied to us by the customer.
22. Privacy
Personal information collected in connection with your enquiry or booking will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection requirements.
Information may be shared with guides, transport providers, attractions and other suppliers where reasonably necessary to arrange or provide your booked services.
23. Governing Law
These Booking Terms & Conditions and any dispute arising from or relating to a booking with Singapore Day Tours will be governed by the laws of Singapore.
The parties submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore, subject to any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
24. Severability
If any provision of these Booking Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the extent permitted by law.
25. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Booking Terms & Conditions from time to time.
Unless otherwise required by law or agreed in writing, the version applicable to your booking will be the version provided or published at the time your booking is confirmed.
