Common Singapore Layover Tour Questions

Clearing Customs & Meeting Your Guide
Arrival clearance at Singapore Changi Airport is generally efficient, with automated immigration available to foreign visitors, although baggage collection and customs can add time.

For cruise arrivals, disembarkation and immigration times can vary depending on the ship and terminal. We can arrange a suitable waiting period around your expected arrival.

Your guide will meet you inside the airport or cruise terminal arrivals area holding a name sign, and will wait for you if clearance takes longer than expected.

If your tour starts from a hotel, your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby at the agreed time.

Is my Singapore layover long enough to leave Changi Airport and take a tour?

For our private layover tours, we recommend having enough time between flights to comfortably clear immigration, meet your guide, enjoy the tour and return to Changi Airport with sufficient time before departure.

Our layover tours are available for 6 or 8 hours. Send us your flight details and we can advise which tour duration may be suitable for the time you have available.

How much time should I allow before my departing flight?

Changi Airport recommends arriving at least two hours before short-haul departures and three hours before long-haul departures. Airline requirements can vary, so we recommend checking the requirements for your specific flight before confirming your tour.

Do I need to clear immigration to take a Singapore layover tour?

Yes. If you want to leave Changi Airport and explore Singapore during your layover, you will need to enter Singapore and complete the required immigration procedures.

Foreign visitors entering Singapore are generally also required to submit an SG Arrival Card before arrival. Travellers remaining airside in transit without seeking immigration clearance are exempt from this requirement.

Do I need a visa to leave Changi Airport during my layover?

This depends on your nationality and the travel document you hold. Some travellers can enter Singapore without obtaining a visa in advance, while others require a Singapore entry visa. Certain travellers may also qualify for Singapore’s Visa-Free Transit Facility.

We recommend checking your entry requirements with Singapore’s Immigration & Checkpoints Authority before booking your tour, as entry into Singapore remains subject to immigration requirements and approval.

Where will my guide meet me at Changi Airport?

Your private guide will meet you in the arrivals area at Changi Airport after you have completed immigration and customs.

We will provide clear meeting instructions before your tour, and your guide will be waiting with a name sign so you can find them easily.

What happens if my flight is delayed or immigration takes longer than expected?

We understand that arrival times and immigration clearance are not always predictable.

Your guide will allow a suitable waiting period for you to clear immigration and customs. If there is a significant flight delay, we will work with you to adjust the arrangements where reasonably possible.

Can you pick me up from Changi Airport and return me there after the tour?

Yes. We can arrange a complete airport-to-airport layover tour, including collection from Changi Airport, your private guided tour and your return transfer to the airport.

One-way transfers can also be arranged if you are starting or finishing your tour at a hotel, cruise terminal or another agreed location.

What happens to my luggage during the tour?

This depends on your flight arrangements and the amount of luggage you are travelling with.

If your baggage is checked through to your final destination, you may not need to collect it in Singapore. If you do have luggage with you, let us know when enquiring so we can recommend the most suitable arrangement and ensure the vehicle has sufficient luggage capacity.

Can the tour start or finish at my hotel instead of the airport?

Yes. Your tour can start or finish at Changi Airport, your Singapore hotel, a cruise terminal or another agreed location.

This is particularly useful if your layover is part of a longer Singapore stopover or you are checking into or out of a hotel on the same day.

Can you arrange layover tours from Singapore cruise terminals?

Yes. We can arrange private tours around cruise arrivals and departures, including pickup and drop-off at Singapore’s cruise terminals.

Cruise disembarkation and immigration times can vary, so we can arrange a suitable meeting time around your ship’s scheduled arrival and onward arrangements.

What can we see during a 6-hour Singapore layover tour?

A 6-hour private tour gives you time to experience several of Singapore’s major cultural districts and city highlights.

Depending on your interests, route and pickup location, your tour could include Little India, Kampong Glam, Chinatown, the Civic District, Singapore River, Merlion Park and Marina Bay. We focus on making good use of your available time rather than trying to rush through too many stops.

Is an 8-hour layover tour different from the 6-hour tour?

An 8-hour tour gives you more time to explore Singapore at a relaxed pace and allows for additional neighbourhoods, attractions, food stops or experiences.

It can also be a good option if you would like to include a ticketed attraction such as Gardens by the Bay or Marina Bay Sands SkyPark alongside Singapore’s cultural and historic districts.

Can Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands SkyPark or other attractions be included?

Yes. Optional attractions and experiences can be incorporated into your itinerary where your available time allows.

Popular additions include Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands SkyPark and a Singapore River bumboat ride. We can also include time for a local hawker centre meal.

Tell us what interests you when enquiring and we will advise what can be incorporated into your tour.

How much does a private Singapore layover tour cost?

Our private layover tours start from S$395 for 6 hours. The final price depends on the number of guests, tour duration, vehicle requirements, airport or cruise transfers and any attractions or additional inclusions you choose.

Your quotation will clearly show what is included before you confirm your tour.
